The PIAMP – Porto Metropolitan Area’s Intangible Heritage website includes the audio-visual record and the gathering of information referring to the theme of intangible heritage selected by each of the Porto Metropolitan Area’s municipalities. Each municipality chose one theme representing a practice or practices either cultural, religious/pagan or of human activities that may identify the community and be considered a tradition.

The most important aspect was not the way that practice or activity began, but its development, current practices and means of transmission to future generations.
